    10-1/4" x 15-3/4" leaf, 16" x 22" frame.
    Single printed page from the "Nuremberg Chronicle," the "Die Schedelsche Weltchronik," by Hartmann Schedel (1440-1514), known in English as the "Nuremberg Chronicle." It was published in Nuremberg, Germany, in 1493 by Anton Koberger (1440/45-1513), first in Latin, then in German; this page is from the German edition. It shows a genealogical tree above a scene of the Drunkenness of Noah. The woodcuts are from the workshop of the prolific artist Nuremberg artist, Michael Wolgemut (1434-1519), and they have been hand-colored after printing with light green and reddish brown pigment. The Nuremberg Chronicle is an illustrated world history, and one of the most famous illustrated incunables (book printed before the year 1500) from Germany. Gothic type, printed in black ink on paper, rubrics in red ink. Excellent condition. Custom framed.
