Presentation copy, inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper: "To / Mrs. M. E. Getz / Earl Derr Biggers / Los Angeles / April 13, 1925." Octavo. [iv], 1-316 pages. Publisher's full brown cloth, front board and spine lettered in green. In the rare original publisher's dust jacket. Cloth spine toned and edgeworn. Boards slightly edgeworn and thumbsoiled. Endleaves a bit toned and offset, with some occasional thumbsoiling. Text a bit toned, a few gutters overopened. Later owner's bookplate on front pastedown, contemporary bookshop price label on rear pastedown. Jacket spine toned and worn, with some marginal chipping (minor loss to text). Some rubbing, edgewear to jacket panels, some thumbsoiling (especially to rear jacket panel) to panels. Still, a near fine copy. Chemised in slipcase.
