    Description

First Edition of Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat, Signed by Him

Dr. Seuss. The Cat in the Hat. [New York]: Random House, [1957]. First edition. Signed by the author in blue ball-point pen on the verso of the front free endpaper at the lower left corner. Small quarto. [ii], 61, [1, note about the book] pages. Publisher's first issue binding of flat paper over boards, price-clipped dust jacket (first edition of jacket, unknown issue, but possibly second issue due to the price of "195" stamped in ink on the rear pastedown, as the second issue jacket was issued without a price, and the first issue was priced "200/200"). Some wear and a few creased tears to jacket, some rubbing and edgewear and sunning to binding, previous owner's neat name in ink on both pastedowns. Very good. Younger and Hirsch 7.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
