Die Wiener Werkstätte 1903-1928. Modernes Kunstewerbe und sein Weg. Vienna: Krystall-Verlag, 1929. First edition. Square octavo (8.8125 x 8.375 inches; 223 x 213 mm.). Unpaginated; [145], [1, blank] pages; profusely illustrated throughout, both in color and monochrome, page backgrounds printed in orange, black and gold; coated paper. Publisher's relief binding in papier-mâché, boards in orange and black; patterned endpapers; in original clamshell. Spine gently leaning; backstrip faintly dulled; boards very slightly splayed; joints stressed with the paper starting to split (still very much secure); boards rubbed; edges worn, particularly at corners. Bottom corner of text block bumped; occasional light wear or rubbing throughout; contemporary gift inscription on the half-title; previous owner discrete rubber stamp on the rear pastedown. Very good; housed in a custom clamshell case. A significant survey of Wiener Werkstätte design, superbly produced.
