Publisher's full blue morocco, front board and spine stamped in gilt; blue watered silk endleaves. In original publisher's blue cloth slipcase. Thick octavo. 862 pages. With numerous maps and illustrations inserted throughout. Spine just barely toned. Slipcase with light rubbing at joints. A fine copy. Ben-Gurion was one of Israel's founding fathers, fighting for her independence, and then drafting her Declaration of Independence. He was Israel's first Prime Minister, and later Minister of Defense. "Considered one of the most scholarly heads of state in human history." (New Jewish Encyclopedia, 48). From the James C. Seacrest Collection.
