[Bound With:] Christina G. Rossetti [British Poet, 1830-1894]. Autograph Letter Signed. 30 Torrington Square, London, September 19, 1890. Three twelvemo pages on one folded quarto sheet on plain white paper (bound into Ballads and Sonnets). Creased, some toning, a few letters smudged. Near fine. In this warm and lengthy letter, Rossetti thanks the unknown correspondent for letting her read a poem (unknown which poem it is), and she also notes the enclosure of autographs of her brother, Dante Gabriel (these autographs are not present here). She also mentions other literary or artistic figures of her acquaintance (Ford Madox Brown, William B. Scott, H. Buxton Forman, etc.). She closes with the following paragraph: "I have seen a good deal of illness - prolonged illness, sometimes. Allow me to commend you to our Lord and God Jesus Xi [?] Who has comforted some so dear to me. Very truly Yours Christina G. Rossetti." From the collection of Alexander J. Jemal, Jr.
