Original emerald green cloth with titles blind-stamped on the front board and lettered in gilt on the spine. More Information:

One of 1,250 copies originally printed, of which 429 were destroyed due to legal action. The sexually overt contents initiated an immediate call for it to be suppressed, and in November 1915, Methuen failed to defend the publication in court, making the statement "that they regretted having published it." As a consequence, The Rainbow was ordered to be destroyed and only part of the print run survived. Roberts A7a.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
