Publisher's blue cloth, spine lettered in gilt, Inner Sanctum logo stamped in gilt on the front board; top edge stained dark blue; in restored original dust jacket. Gentle spine lean with shallow ridge down backstrip; spine ends and corners worn; crown faintly dulled. Text block just barely sagging; very slightly shaken; endpapers faintly discolored from binding glue; bookseller's ticket; bookplate. Extensive, and skillful, restoration to jacket edges and folds; some faint discoloration; light even soiling; price-clipped. A very good copy in a presentable restored jacket. A Haycraft-Queen cornerstone. Basis for the 1968 Fran├žois Truffaut film starring Jeanne Moreau. From the KoKo Collection.
