DescriptionChristopher Morley. Parnassus On Wheels. Garden City: Doubleday, Page & Company, 1917. First edition, first issue, with gap between "Y" and "e" in "Years" on page 4, line 8 and missing "l" from "goldenrod" on page 169, line 11. Octavo. [viii], 190, [2, printer's statement and blank] pages. Publisher's one-quarter tan cloth over light brown paper-covered boards, spine stamped in gilt, front stamped in dark brown; all text block edges trimmed; original illustrated dust jacket. Minor shelf wear to binding; hint of foxing along top edges of boards. Some minor age discoloration to endpapers, along with a trace of foxing and offsetting from jacket flaps; bookplate at front pastedown; bookseller's ticket at rear pastedown. Text block softly dulled, with edges foxed; minor toning on two leaves from material previously laid in. Edge wear resulting in nicking at spine and flap fold ends; wear along folds; minor rubbing and soiling. Very good. Housed in custom chemise and slipcase.
