Light brown beveled cloth stamped in an elaborate floral design in black and pink on the front cover and spine. Lettered in black on a gilt field on the front cover and spine. All edges gilt. Floral endpapers. Very good condition.     

    Ben King. Jane Jones and Some Others. Illustrations by John A. Williams. Chicago: Forbes & Company, 1909. First edition by this publisher. Octavo. 94 pages. 16 color plates. Green cloth with the front cover and spine stamped in an elaborate pink and dark green floral design with the lettering stamped black on a gilt field on the front cover and in gilt on the spine. Very minor rubbing and minimal soiling. Corners and spine ends are lightly bumped. Previous owner's inscription on front free endpaper. One plate has become detatched and is laid-in. Very mionor foxing. Very good condition.   

    Johnny Gruelle. Raggedy Ann Stories. Written & Illustrated by Johnny Gruelle. Chicago New York: M. A. Donohue & Company, [1918]. Later edition, due to the mention on the advertisement page of books that were published after 1918. Octavo. One page of publisher's ads at the rear. Quarter black cloth over red pictorial boards. Illustrated endpapers. Some rubbing and scuffing to the boards. Corners, edges and spine ends are bumped with some chipping. Previous owner's name on half-title page. The bottom corrner in the gutter of the pages towards the rear have tiny tears away from the hinge. A very good copy of the work that brought into life the beloved Raggedy Ann character.
