Rockwell Kent. Voyaging Southward from the Strait of Magellan. New York: G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1924. First edition, association copy, inscribed by the author-illustrator for Marguerite Aspinwall, who apparently worked on this book with Kent: "To Miss Aspinwall / the indefatigable, tender, patient / foster mother of this book, this / copy is gratefully inscribed by / the author - / Rockwell Kent. / 1924." Large quarto (11 x 8.5 inches; 279 x 216 mm.). [xvi], 184, [2, blank] pages. Illustrated. Publisher's full mustard cloth, front board decoratively stamped in black, spine lettered in black. Pictorial endleaves. Spine worn; boards worn; binding soiled. Front free endpaper lacking; hinges cracked or starting; text toned; occasional thumbsoiling in text; final blank and rear free endpaper a bit loose near the top margin. Good. From the James C. Seacrest Collection.

More Information: Additionally, this book is inscribed by Aspinwall beneath the Kent inscription: "1948- / To Mr. Roper- / Who loves good books, / and collects first editions- / I pass on this book / which I value for / its pleasant work with / its author- / Marguerite Aspinwall."
