S. printed by Heinemann in London with Doran title-pages, this potentially the first printed in the United States. Octavo. [2, blank], 33, [1, blank] pages; seven lithographic illustrations, of which three are double-page, by William Nicholson inserted throughout. Publisher's illustrated paper-covered boards; in the original dust jacket. Spine very gently leaning; board edges very lightly soiling. Verso of the final leaf and the rear free endpaper with a few flecks of soiling. Dust jacket spine panel very faintly dulled; trace edgewear with a small chip at the upper end of the rear panel fold; minimal soiling; bookseller notes in pencil on the front flap. Near fine. A beautiful copy.
