    L. Frank Baum. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Chicago and New York: Geo. M. Hill Co., 1900. First edition. Quarto (8.375 x 6.375 in; 212 x 161 mm.). 259, [1, blank], [1, final chapter], [1, blank], [1, colophon], [1, presumed blank] pages (note: endpapers part of the text block and included in the pagination). Illustrations by W. W. Denslow. Inserted title-page and twenty-three other full-color inserted plates; plates facing pages 34 and 92 in their corrected state. Head-pieces, chapter title-pages, and in-text illustrations. Publisher's light green cloth, stamped and lettered in green and red; variant B binding according to Hanff & Greene with the publisher's name appearing in red unserifed type at base of spine. Skillfully recased, retaining just about the entire backstrip, lacking just a small portion at the foot of the spine, seams barely noticeable in the joints. Covers slightly worn with some light staining and discoloration, somewhat faded; corners bumped. Page edges faintly yellowed with a touch of wear; hinges reinforced; occasional minor marginal soiling; archival tape mend to bottom of color plate facing page 14 and evidence of professional mend made to bottom of plate facing page 92. A sophisticated copy, presents as very good. Hanff & Greene, Bibliographia Oziana, I.
