    First edition thus. Octavo. 144 pages. Six gravure plates with tissue guards (except frontispiece) and thirteen black-and-white illustrations in text by Mabel Lucie Attwell.


    Original green cloth with titles and vignette stamped in black. Faded spot at the lower spine end corresponding to missing piece of the dust jacket. Light shelf wear around the edges of the boards. Preliminary and terminal pages slightly toned and with scattered light foxing. Gift inscription on the front free endpaper dated Christmas 1932. Original dust jacket with small piece missing from the lower spine panel, and wear at the extremities, else a sound copy in very good condition. Difficult to find with a dust jacket.
