The first six volumes housed together in the publisher's special gilt-stamped cloth slipcase. A few corners bumped. Fine. [together with]: J. K. Rowling. Autograph Note Signed. [Edinburgh, n.d., ca. 2002]. Written on personal cream-colored note card with her name embossed in red at the top of the recto. Approximately 4.25 x 5.75 inches. Written in black ball-point pen on both sides, the note reads, "Dear [X], I am so very sorry it has taken so long to return the enclosed. Your letter has just surfaced among a pile of answered mail - at some point it was obviously mis-filed. As the first anniversary of [Y]'s death approaches I hope you will [overleaf] find a belated opportunity to give the enclosed to the girls along with a hug each from me. Again, I am sorry for the long delay. With very best wishes J. K. Rowling." In the original mailing envelope, addressed in another hand. Fine. [together with]: J. K. Rowling.     This collection comes from the library of a collector who bumped into Rowling in New York, and discovered that they shared a mutual friend. The collector and Rowling maintained contact and the signed material presented here is the result. An excellent group, of the highest interest to a collector of modern children's literature.
