First edition, autographed issue, limited to 100 copies, of which this is number twenty-seven, and signed by the the author-illustrator. Small quarto (8.25 x 6.25 inches; 209 x 159 mm.). 225, [3, blank] pages. With six color plates and limitation leaf inserted; several in-text black and white illustrations. Publisher's full dark green cloth, pictorial paper label on front board, spine lettered in gilt. Original dust jacket. Cloth spine just barely toned; some mild edgewear to spine and boards; light thumbsoiling to pictorial label on front board; front hinge with small repair; rear hinge just barely starting; text very slightly toned; some light intermittent thumbsoiling in text. Binding skewed. Dust jacket spine toned; extensive tape repairs as well as some restoration to jacket verso; edgewear and chipping to jacket, with a few tears (including a rather long one on the rear panel - with corresponding tape repair to verso); jacket with thumbsoiling.
