    First edition thus. Quarto. In three parts, 256; 159; and 160 pages. With 18 color plates (frontispiece plate missing), 19 black and white plates and numerous illustrations within text by Anne Anderson.


    Original textured brownish-red cloth with titles and vignettes on the front board and spine stamped in gilt. Pictorial endpapers. Boards soiled and toned with moderate wear at the edges and corners. Cloth on spine slightly cockled and faded. Front free endpaper and frontispiece missing. A few scattered stains throughout with binding ever-so-slightly shaken as is common with a book of this size, else very good.


    Anne Anderson's wonderful Art Nouveau illustrations enhance the endearing fairy tales of Masters Grimm and Andersen.
