[Walt Disney]. Deems Taylor. Walt Disney's Fantasia. New York: Simon and Schuster, 1940. First edition, inscribed by Walt Disney following his introductory note on page [8]: "To Harold Ridenour / with all best / wishes / Walt Disney." Folio (12.625 x 9.5 inches; 321 x 242 mm.). 157 [158], [2, blank] pages; illustrated with full-page and in-text illustrations, several plates mounted throughout. Publisher's light brownish-gray cloth, spine and front board lettered in blue; all edges trimmed; illustrated endpapers; in the original dust jacket. Covers somewhat foxed with occasional soiling; spine gently leaning; backstrip lightly browned; wear to spine ends and corners with the boards partially exposed; corners softly bumped. Slightly shaken; text block barely sagging; light wear to the page edges with a faint dampstain near the bottom corner. Dust jacket rubbed with some light color loss to the rear panel; spine and rear panels somewhat wrinkled possibly caused by minor water damage with a faint tidemark (visible only on the verso) running the length of the spine panel; jacket edges and folds worn with some minor chipping to the spine ends and fold edges and an occasional closed tear; price-clipped. About very good. Harold Ridenour was "the man who had been running the business of selling Disney character end stickers to bread companies" (Jimmy Johnson. Inside the Whimsy Works. Jackson, MI: 2014. p. 36). From the James C. Seacrest Collection.
