    Edition de Luxe. Limited to 500 copies, of which this is number 99, signed by Nielsen. Large quarto. [4], 206, [1, printer's imprint], [1, blank] pages. Twenty-five tipped-in color plates, with descriptive tissue guards. Numerous black and white text illustrations.

    Beautifully bound by Sangorski & Sutcliffe for London bookseller E. Joseph (stamp-signed on front turn-in) in blue morocco, pictorially stamped and lettered in gilt on front cover and spine to match the original binding, gilt-ruled turn-ins, top edge gilt, others uncut. Original pictorial endpapers in gold and black have been laid down and trimmed for re-binding. Pages toning a bit at edges; minor worming to bottom right margin of two rear leaves, not affecting text. A couple of plates have minor amount of glue residue to left side of plate, visible only in raked light. Else, a wonderful copy in fine condition.
