Edition de Luxe, limited to 500 copies of which this is numbered "279" and signed by Nielsen. Quarto. 197, [3, blank] pages; twelve tipped-in colour plates (with captioned tissue guards) as well as full page and intertextual black and white illustrations by Kay Nielsen. Original vellum over boards decoratively stamped and lettered in gilt on front cover and spine, top edge gilt, fore-edge and tail untrimmed, dark blue cloth dust jacket. Boards splayed, corners a bit bumped, board edges a bit bumped light scattered foxing on vellum, small speckle stains on lower edges. Text block edges lightly toned, occasional faint to light foxing, small mark on front free endpaper, offsetting along fore-edge of title page, occasional creasing on tissue guards. Dust jacket has moderate dampstaining along edges with some minor chipping and loss, foxing on verso, general handling wear. Still, a very nice, clean copy with beautiful illustrations.
