    Description

Limited Edition, Signed by Arthur Rackham

[Arthur Rackham, illustrator]. Robert Browning. The Pied Piper of Hamelin. Illustrated by Arthur Rackham. London: George G. Harrap & Co. Ltd., [1934].

Number 22 of 410 limited edition copies signed by Arthur Rackham on the limitation page. Octavo. 45 pages. Four full-color plates and numerous black and white drawings throughout the text.

Publisher's full limp vellum with the front cover stamped in gilt. Top edge gilt. Pictorial endpapers in tan and white. Housed in a rather worn publisher's slipcase with a small title stamp affixed to the spine, lettered and hand-numbered in brown. The slipcase has also partially split along the bottom. The book shows minimal shelf wear, but is an altogether fine copy of a scarce book.

A later Rackham classic, and perhaps the finest illustrated edition of Browning's tale ever produced. Especially rare in the vellum binding.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
