    Charles Dickens. A Tale of Two Cities. London: All the Year Round [Chapman and Hall], April 30, 1859-November 26, 1859. First appearance of A Tale of Two Cities, published in serial format in Dickens's magazine, All The Year Round, twenty-six numbers in seven issues. Octavo (9.5 x 6.25 inches; 240 x 160mm.). Original blue printed wrappers with titles in black on the front wrapper. Wrapper edges worn with some chipping; occasional light soiling or foxing; spine of first issue perished, others tattered; previous owner's signature on the front wrapper of the second issue; some minor paper loss to front wrappers of third and fifth issues. Text blocks faintly toned; page edges worn with some chipping. Still, a very good set of a fragile publication. Housed in custom slipcase and chemise. Somewhat uncommon in original issues.
