One of Twelve Deluxe Lettered Copies With an Original Layout Illustration Hand-Corrected and Signed by R. Crumb

Charles Bukowski, text. R. Crumb, serigraphs and illustrations. The Captain Is Out to Lunch and the Sailors Have Taken Over the Ship. Santa Rosa: Black Sparrow Graphic Arts, 1997. First edition, letter J of twelve deluxe copies signed by R. Crumb on the limitation page, and each of the five serigraph prints in the book, and with an original color layout illustration signed by Crumb and with his holographic corrections. Folio. 120 pages plus limitation page. The layout illustration, which appears opposite page 86 in the final printed book, is mounted with archival tape and matted under a thin plastic sheet. Both the book and layout illustration are housed together, in separate compartments, in the publisher's red cloth slipcase with paper label to one side. Minimal dust-soiling to the slipcase. A very fine copy, and a welcome addition to any Crumb collection.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
