Publisher's red cloth, front and spine stamped in black; all edges of the text block trimmed; in the original illustrated dust jacket. Mild shelf wear at extremities of binding; spine panel very slightly faded; small bump at front joint. Regular age toning to edges and interior of text block; bottom edge slightly foxed. Minor spotting, discoloration to endpapers; previous owner signature at front free endpaper. Soft creasing to jacket at joint and flap folds; very short tear, less than one-eighth of an inch, at head of rear panel; flaps clipped. Nearly fine. Features Daly's hard-boiled private eye, Race Williams, and originally published serially in Black Mask. From the Otto Penzler Collection of Mystery Fiction.
