Publisher's green cloth, front and spine stamped in red and black; top edge of the text block stained red, others trimmed; in the original illustrated dust jacket. Very minor shelf wear at extremities of binding; a touch of soiling to boards and spine; top edge slightly darkened. Normal age toning to edges and interior of text block. Small amount of foxing to endpapers, principally at front; bookseller's ticket at rear pastedown. Mild rubbing to jacket with a few spots of thumbsoiling at rear panel; some soft creasing, mostly at head of spine panel and rear flap; flaps clipped. Near fine book in a nearly fine jacket. Daly's third book and the second to feature his popular private detective, Race Williams. From the Otto Penzler Collection of Mystery Fiction.
