More Information: Jean-Baptiste Say (1767-1832). This was a highly influential work, in part because it gained widespread sales both domestic and foreign and part becaus Say held personal influence over others such as Blanqui. In it, Say mentions for the first time ever the Romans in a history of political economy. Say believed that nothing substantial had been writtern in the field before Adam Smith and nothing ever since, offering his own Traite as the first improvement.
