    More Information:

    An interesting miscellany of books on everything from bookplates and artists to novels and poetry. From the James M. Goode Collection of Bookplates.

    Books in publishers' bindings. Several with bookplates of their own and some inscribed. Bindings rubbed and soiled, corners bumped; dampstaining, soiling, occasional pen or pencil markings. Books in fair to very good condition.

    Tench Coxe. A View of the United States [of] America, In a Series of Papers, written at various times between the Years 1787 and 1794. Philadelphia: Printed for William Hall, and Wrigley & Berriman, 1794. 1863 forged bookplate of George Washington on front pastedown. Ex-library ink stamps. Binding damaged, front board detached, backstrip loss, book split.

    [Joseph Thomas]. The Life of the Pilgrim, Joseph Thomas, Containing an Accurate Account of His Trials, Travels, and Gospel Labours up to the Present Date. Winchester, Va.: J Foster, 1817. Front free endpaper torn with loss, pages browned and ink stained throughout.

    Benjamin Heath Malkin. Classical Disquisitions and Curiosities, Critical and Historical. London: Printed for Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme, Brown, and Green, 1825.

    H. Murray. The British Schools of Art: A Selection of Examples Engraved in Line by 76 Eminent Artists. Descriptions by H. Murray, F.S.A.. Vol. I [-II].  London: Virtue and Co., [1861-1863]. Ninety engraved plates. Tape repairs to joints, front hinge open, exposing spine.

    [Edward Bulwer-Lytton, anonymous]. A Strange Story. By the Author of "Rienzi," "My Novel," etc. etc. etc. London: Sampson Low, Son, & Co., 1863. New Edition Revised. With presumed reproduction book plates of Charles Dickens on front pastedown. Textblock split between Preface pages vi and vii, masking tape repairs and stains on all front leaves, loose pages.

    Walter Hamilton. Dated Book-plates (Ex Libris) with A Treatise on their Origin and Development..With About One Hundred Illustrations. London: A. & C. Black: 1895. Rebound with original spine and decorated front board cloth laid on top.
