Large Collection of Yearbooks from The American Society of Bookplate Collectors and Designers

[Bookplates]. Collection of American Society of Bookplate Collectors and Designers Yearbooks. Washington D.C.: The American Bookplate Society, 1920-2010.
A large run of approximately sixty books comprising some 84 years of this distinguished and valuable annual on the bookplate designing and collecting. Beginning with the second yearbook in 1920 and running nearly consecutively to 2010 (years wanting include 1921, 1922, 1954, 1955, 1956, 1971, 1972) plus the Index for 1923-1949/50 and for 1951-1972. Some issues are double numbers as published. Featuring many tipped-in examples of real plates, as well as artist proofs and numerous articles and illustrations. Most yearbooks are limited to between 150 and 250 copies (many are numbered), and some are inscribed, such at the 1923 yearbook inscribed by Society officer and bookplate designer Carlyle Solomon Baer. Some plates and proofs signed by the artists.
Includes a copy of A Census of Bookplate Collections by Clara Therese Evans and Carlyle S. Baer. Washington D.C.: The Bruin Press, 1938; and Bulletins 10 (1938), 11 (1941) and 12 (1945).
Saddle-stitched or string-tied printed wrappers. Most items in the collection are in very good to fine condition (though a few have flaws). A nice group of very useful set on Bookplate collecting and designing.
From the Collection of James M. Goode.
