Inscribed by Hammerstein and with Personal Correspondence

Oscar Hammerstein II. Lyrics. New York: Simon and Schuster, 1949. First edition, first printing. Signed and inscribed by the author on front free endpaper, "For / Edna and Fred / with my love- / Oc". Laid in are several pieces of personal correspondence, all in original mailing envelopes, including: one ALS from 1957, three TLS from 1949-1951, and a brief ALS from Hammerstein's daughter, Alice Hammerstein Mathias, dated 1961. Octavo. xv, 215 pages. Publisher's burgundy cloth with gilt titles somewhat dulled. Slight lean to binding with softly bumped corners. Two tiny stains along fore-edge. Light wear to dust jacket with several small tears and minor chipping to ends. Darkened tape repair to tail. A very good copy.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
