"I look forward to seeing you again after all this time - and what a time, in how tragic a world!"

[Max Beerbohm]. Group of Six ALS and One TLS from Max Beerbohm. 1906, 1909, 1918, 1929, 1956, and n.d. Six letters in the hand of Max Beerbohm to John Lane, Mrs. Leslie Faber, Mr. Balderston, a Miss Churton, and another; and a typed letter from the last year of his life to St. John Ervine, regarding permission to use a quote. Most others deal with invitations and appointments. All signed by Max Beerbohm. Approximately 3.5 x 4.5 inches, 4 x 6 inches, 4.5 x 7 inches, 5.5 x 7 inches, and 5 x 8 inches. Four foldover lettersheets on "Upper Berkeley Street" letterhead, three of which have been written on two pages each and one on only one page; a small card written on both sides, a foldover lettersheet on "Garland's Hotel" letterhead written on two pages, and a single sided typed "Villino Chiato, Rapallo" letterhead page. With the exception of the small card, the letters have been folded horizontally, and one has also been folded vertically. One of the John Lane letters has dried glue remnants on the fore-edge of its inner page. Light fold and edge wear, small fold separations, unobtrusive holograph pencil dealer's numbers on corners, minor creases, light foxing or minor stains; else in very good condition.
