    [George Washington]. John Marshall. Vie de George Washington. Paris: Dentu, 1807. First edition in French. Five small octavo volumes (7.75 x 4.75 inches; 197 x 125 mm.). With the small folio Atlas volume (11 x 9 inches; 280 x 227 mm.). With frontispiece portrait of Washington in Volume I of the biography and another portrait of Washington in the Atlas volume. Atlas complete with sixteen plates and maps, some of which are double-page, some are fold-out. Text volumes bound in contemporary full tree calf, boards double-ruled in gilt, spines tooled in gilt, with burgundy gilt morocco lettering labels. Gilt board-edges, marbled edges and endleaves. Atlas volume bound in quarter green mottled paper over green marbled paper boards, front board with green gilt morocco lettering label. Text volumes bindings are worn, mainly at headcaps and joints; some occasional soiling to bindings; boards somewhat bowed. Bookplate in each volume. Atlas volume with some light wear to binding; free-endpapers stuck to pastedowns (this has caused the front free endpaper to tear; some toning, thumbsoiling to plates; some plates with marginal restoration. This version of the Atlas has a total of six maps and plates more than the first (1804-1807) Philadelphia version.
