    More Information: The scandalous life, trial, and will of Elizabeth Chudleigh (1720-1788), Countess of Bristol and sometimes styled as the Duchess of Kingston. She was secretly married to Augustus John Hervey (later Earl of Bristol) with whom she had a child but they separated. She later married the Duke of Kingston and became involved in a bigamy suit. She was a beautiful woman, who delighted in fashionable balls and scandalous behavior. Even appearing at one dress ball as Ipigenia (our frontispiece) in 1749 with her breasts exposed. She was a favorite at European courts and this work chronicles her life.  ESTC n16144.
