    [Aubrey Beardsley]. R. A. Walker, editor. Letters from Aubrey Beardsley to Leonard Smithers. [London:] The First Edition Club, 1937. Edition limited to 1,000 unnumbered copies. Personal copy of Stanley Scott, with an extra tipped in page inscribed in ink and dated 1958, which reads: "In a letter to me dated April 8th 1958, / R A Walker wrote: / "The book of letters / (from Beardsley to Smithers : 1937), / had bad luck. / Of the 1,000 copies, one third was / destroyed in the blitz and / another third was seized by the / binders for an unpaid account / of Symons. This third was sold / by the binder to Blackwell who / reported to me they are all sold. / So the edition is really only / About 666." Publisher's black cloth with spine titles and decoration in gilt. Deckled edges. Some rubbing, bumping and edgewear to extremities. Some minor foxing to endpapers. Very good.
