Arthur Miller Signed Death of a Salesman First UK Edition. (London: The Cresset Press, 1949), 133 pages, red cloth binding with gilt lettering on spine and front board, 12mo (5" x 7.5"), dust jacket (in protective mylar). Signed "Arthur Miller" on title page. Death of a Salesman only took Arthur Miller six weeks to write, yet this great American tragedy will live forever. Upon its London opening in 1949, the Guardian newspaper called Mr. Miller's latest work, "a penetrating series of glimpses into the heart of a man who is dying of disappointment...a most moving play which chronicles the decline of a good little man and the defection of his sons, whom he had tried to bully into his own sham philosophy." This copy is about very good, with price clipped, foxing to the edges and throughout the text, but overall a very attractive edition for any Miller library.
