    Bound in original light blue cloth with gilt lettering at spine and gilt illustration on front cover. Skewed spine shows considerable wear, fading, and water staining. White trim is lightly worn; rubbing and bumping to boards at edges and corners. Textblock is bright and clean. The first Professor Challenger story, in which his exploration locates remnants of the prehistoric world on a plateau in South America. Overall, a very good copy.
