The Art Work of Louis C. Tiffany - Inscribed to Agnes Northrop, Who Designed Nearly All of Tiffany's Floral and Landscape Windows

Louis C. Tiffany. The Art Work of Louis C. Tiffany. Garden City: Doubleday, Page & Company, 1914. First edition, number 79 of 492 copies printed on Japan paper for private distribution, warmly inscribed by Tiffany: "No. 79 / To Miss Agnes Northrop / My dear Miss Northrop / To you, who have helped / me for over thirty years in my / work, I am glad to send you / my book on my sixty seventh birthday. / Louis C. Tiffany / Feb 18 - 1915" on the front free endpaper. With the first page of the Certificate of Insurance for an employee of Louis C. Tiffany, Issued by The Travelers Insurance Copy, with a large portrait of Tiffany on the verso, laid-in (toned and creased). Large quarto. Approximately 12.5 x 9.5 inches. [xxxii], [91], [1, colophon] pages. With twenty one tipped-in color plates and forty-two photogravures inserted throughout. Publisher's full red vellum, embossed in gold and black. Some wear to binding, boards bent outward just a bit, gutter facing limitation page cracking. Still, a near fine copy of this beautifully produced book. Tiffany paid for the production of this book, and presented the copies personally to clients, friends, and employees. Agnes Northrop was one of the few female artists creating windows for Tiffany. According to Alice Cooney Frelinghuysen, Northrop had designed the majority of Tiffany's floral and landscape windows. An exceptional association.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
