    Description

James Guthrie. Root and Branch. [London and Sussex]: Pear Tree Press, Morland Press, 1912, 1917-1918. First editions, limitation signed by Guthrie.

    More Information:

James Guthrie. Root and Branch. A Quarterly of the Arts. [London and Sussex: The Pear Tree Press and The Morland Press, 1912, 1917-1918. First editions. Volume I, nos. 1-4 and Volume II, nos. 1-4. Eight octavo issues. With beautiful illustrations. Without outer wrappers. [with:] A limitation plate signed by Guthrie (for 1 of 50 copies of a book), and two full-page samples of marbled paper. Clearly, these issues were intended to be bound into a single volume, yet for some reason the project did not go forward. Minor rubbing. Save for the lack of wrappers, this is a fine set, and a tantalizing look at the book that would have been.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
