"A landmark collaboration between writer H. G. Wells, producer Alexander Korda, and designer and director William Cameron Menzies"

    H. G. Wells, original novel and screenplay. William Cameron Menzies, director. Archive of Material related to the Release of Things to Come. London: London Film Productions, 1936. Includes: Continuity Script, thirty-two mimeographic legal-sized leaves, staple-bound at upper margin; List of Superimposing Instructions and English Master Titles, eighty-three mimeographic leaves, side-stitched in original yellow wrappers; two pages of Cut-In Titles in Trailer; one page of Trailer Dialog; and one page Music Cue Sheet; and English and U. S. pressbooks in publisher's bindings with original wrappers. U. S. pressbook approximately 18 x 12 inches, other items somewhat smaller. Light general wear to promotional material, with occasional bruise and some scant foxing, two rubber stamps from the Borst collection. U. S. Pressbook creased horizontally, partially disbound with outer wrappers detached and split at centerfold with tape repair, some fold separation, light tidemark to one section, ad section partially disbound with leaves outside leaves separated. List of Superimposing Instructions bottom staple loose with concluding leaves disbound. Light marginal wear and browning to script and sheets. U. S. Pressbook fair only, while others are much nicer. An interesting collection of promotional and exhibitor instruction material for an ambitious cinematic endeavor, one with which Wells was actively involved throughout the filmmaking process. Criterion Collection 660. From the Larry McMurtry Collection of H. G. Wells.
