    Description

A Handsome and Intriguing One-of-a-kind Item
    from Gloria Helfgott

Gloria Helfgott. Thesis. [Pacific Palisades]: [Gloria Helfgott], [1998]. As with most of this artist's work, this is a unique, one-of-a-kind handmade item. Approximately 6 x 6.5 x 5.5 inches. Unpaginated. Publisher's mixed media of folded paper with collage, over cloth. Triangular shape that opens and unfolds. Suede covers and housed in matching linen box. A few spots of modest soil to box. Fine. Helfgott has said "The book is an object. The book is a passage. The book is a place...to be read and unread." She has created over eighty one-of-a-kind pieces for private collectors and museums. "Much like a conventional author, Helfgott starts each book with a working title and she 'writes' her story around it. These 'conceptual puns,' as she calls them, must work visually as well as literally." (Ruhling, "'Artists' Books: A Viewer Friendly Form." Newsday, April 10, 1991).

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
