Frontispiece and nineteen engravings after works by Rembrandt, Van Eyck, Greuze, Troyon, and others; decorated head- and tail-pieces, initials, titles in red and black. Publisher's green cloth over beveled boards with gilt titles and elaborate decorations in gilt and black on the front cover and spine, blind stamped on back cover, all edges gilt. Binding lightly rubbed at extremities, edges and corners bumped, head and foot of spine bumped; small holograph pencil notes on verso of both free endpapers, some pages over-opened near plates, occasional smudges; otherwise an attractive book in very good condition.
