    Charles Dana Gibson. Eight Limited Edition Volumes of Artwork by "Gibson Girl" Creator Charles Dana Gibson. R.H. Russell and Various Publishers. 1896-1903. From the Langhorne/ Gibson Family. Seven signed copies, each numbered "1" of a limited edition; and one specially printed volume, The Education of Mr. Pipp, for his wife and "Gibson Girl" inspiration, Irene Langhorne Gibson.
    Eight heavily illustrated landscape format volumes (approximately 12" X 18"), including:
    Pictures of People By C. D. Gibson. New York: R.H. Russell & Son. London: John Lane. 1896. Signed and inscribed in India ink on first illustration: "With all my love to the!! Big American Girl./ Dana-". Limited edition of five hundred signed copies, of which this copy is numbered "1" and signed "R.H. Russell & Sons" on front pastedown limitation label. Quarter cloth over illustrated paper covered beveled boards, title and illustration in black on front cover, upper edge gilt. Binding rubbed and soiled, front hinge cracked exposing binder's mull, rear hinge cracked; textblock shaken but firm, and light thumb soiling. Still internally very good.
    London As Seen By Charles Dana Gibson. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1897. Limited edition of two hundred and fifty signed copies, of which this copy is numbered "1" and signed in pencil "Charles D. Gibson". Lacking signed proof called for in limitation statement. Bound in quarter cream buckram over tan cloth covered beveled boards, title in gilt on front cover, upper edge gilt. Binding rubbed, soiled and lightly darkened; front hinge cracked after front free endpaper, front and rear leaves coming loose from binding, light smudges and few dust shadows.
    Sketches and Cartoons By C. D. Gibson. New York: R.H. Russell. London: John Lane. 1898. Limited edition of two hundred and fifty signed copies, of which this copy is numbered "1" and signed: "R. H. Russell" in ink and "C. D. Gibson" in pencil on front pastedown limitation label. Full tan cloth covered beveled boards, title stamped in gilt on front board, publisher's gilt device on rear board, upper edge gilt, in a plain paper dust jacket. Housed in matching cloth covered book box with title in gilt on top. Few occasional minor smudges. Blank paper dust jacket worn, torn, creased and lightly soiled. Box lightly rubbed, soiled, and darkened, small fold tears in upper lid at three corners.
    The Education of Mr. Pipp By C. D. Gibson. New York: R.H. Russell, 1899. Printed label inside front cover: "This copy was especially printed for Irene Langhorne Gibson". Full tan cloth covered beveled boards, title stamped in gilt on front cover, upper edge gilt. Housed in matching cloth covered book box with title in gilt on top. Boards lightly soiled, small fabric scratch on rear board; occasional smudges and few small edge tears. Box lightly rubbed, soiled, and darkened.
    Americans Drawn By C. D. Gibson. New York: R.H. Russell, 1900. Limited edition of two hundred and fifty signed copies, of which this copy is numbered "1" and signed: "R. H. Russell" in ink and "C. D. Gibson" in pencil on front pastedown limitation label. Full tan cloth covered beveled boards, title stamped in gilt on front board, upper edge gilt. Housed in matching cloth covered book box with title in gilt on top. Binding lightly soiled; minor soiling to front endpapers, few minor smudges or spots of soiling. Box lightly rubbed, soiled, and darkened, small fold tears in upper lid at four corners.
    A Widow And Her Friends By C. D. Gibson. New York: R.H. Russell. London: John Lane. 1901. Limited edition of two hundred and fifty signed copies, of which this copy is numbered "1" and signed: "R. H. Russell" in ink and "C. D. Gibson" in pencil on front pastedown limitation label. Full tan cloth covered beveled boards, title stamped in gilt on front board, upper edge gilt. Housed in matching cloth covered book box with title in gilt on top. Pages with few minor smudges. Box lightly rubbed and soiled, small fold tears in upper lid at one corner.
    The Social Ladder By C. D. Gibson. New York: R.H. Russell. London: John Lane. 1902. Inscribed in India ink on first illustration: "to Irene from Dana". Limited edition of two hundred and fifty signed copies, of which this copy is numbered "1", signed: "R. H. Russell" and inscribed: "This copy is number one/ C. D. Gibson" in India ink on front pastedown limitation label. Full tan cloth covered beveled boards, title stamped in gilt on front board, upper edge gilt. Housed in matching cloth covered book box with title in gilt on top. Pages with few minor smudges or stains. Box lightly rubbed and soiled, pen line on upper lid.
    Eighty Drawings Including The Weaker Sex By C. D. Gibson. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons. London: John Lane. 1903. Limited edition of two hundred and fifty signed copies, of which this copy is numbered "1" and signed: "C. D. Gibson" in pencil on front pastedown limitation label. Full tan cloth covered beveled boards, title stamped in gilt on front board, upper edge gilt. Housed in matching cloth covered book box with title in gilt on top and printed "Edition de Luxe" label on the inside of its top lid. Pages with few minor smudges, few lightly over-opened pages. Box lightly rubbed and soiled, small fold tears in upper lid at one corner.
    Small holograph pencil numbers on each rear pastedown.
    A wonderful collection of Gibson's work with the best possible association in very good or better condition.

Gibson, the second Pictures of People, and the third, Sketches and Cartoons, the fourth The Education of Mr. Pipp, the fifth Americans, the sixth The Widow and Her Friends, the seventh The Social Ladder and the eighth The Weaker Sex.
