    Carlo Ridolfi (1602-circa 1660) was an artist of Venice, known for his Visitation which he painted in the church of All Saints, Venice, as well as numerous other paintings in buildings around the city and portraits for the collections of the Venetian aristocracy. In addition, he was the author of a number of books, mainly biographies of artists, and remains most famous for his magnum opus, the work offered here.
