First three issues are first English-language editions, issued through Coronet, fourth issue first edition (text in French). Four volumes. Folio. Various paginations, illustrated with original lithographs by Matisse, Kandinsky and others as well as ample photographic reproductions. Publisher's perfect bindings in original illustrated wrappers; first two issues in their original boxes. Wrappers very lightly rubbed; extremities softly bumped with just a touch of wear; issue three backstrip faintly faded with some light soiling, trace minor soiling elsewhere. Few instances of very minor over-opening; sporadic marginal thumbsoiling; limited offsetting. Box of the first issue tattered with edges splitting, part of one flap lacking; minor wear to box of second issue. Very good or better. Features literary contributions by Bataille, Valéry and more.
