Krown & Spellman retail: $400. 3 parts in one volume. 2 folia+16 plates; 2 folia + 14 plates; 1 folio + 42 plates. 1/4 old calf, tan boards, corners worn. Banded spine with gilt stamp decoration, leather label with title in gilt lettering, wear to head and tail. All edges red. Light browning and foxing. Bookplate on front pastedown. A nice copy. 72 full page engraved portraits of ancient kings, plate 15 of Israel series being hand colored. From the Krown & Spellman Collection.

    The plates are by Giovanni-Battista Sintes (1680-1760), Bartholomeus de Petris & Gaetano Piccini see Benezit IX,626 & VIII,304.           

    The British Museum has two vols. bound together, entitled "Series Ptolomaeorum regum Aegypte Incisoribus Iconum C. Piccini characterum (Rome: T. Petrosche, 1724)" and "Series chronologica Patiracharum... iNcisoribus Iconumm T. B. Sintes et B. de Petris characterur vero D. Franceschini (Rome 1724), both in 4to.  OCLC: 7443240 (other eds? 1724-30).
