Signed by Aviation Pioneers Orville Wright,
Charles Lindbergh, R. E. Byrd, John A. Macready,
    Louis Bleriot, Albert C. Read,
    and Charles Kingford-Smith

[Aviation]. [Orville Wright]. [Frank Lemon, illustrator]. Flights. Unforgettable Exploits of the Air. [N.p.]. Wright Aeronautical Corporation, Christmas 1928. First edition, number 427 of only 500 copies of this complete collection of seven prints commemorating milestones in aviation, each signed by the pilot. Each print approximately 16 x 13.5 inches visible (each print is matted, framed, and glazed in frames of various colors). Also matted, framed and glazed is the original cloth-backed portfolio (approximately 22 x 18 inches). Each print bears the Currier Press embossed stamp. Prints are bright and fine (very minor marginal creasing and a small closed marginal tear to the Wright print, not affecting image). Portfolio (toned and with some marginal wear) is matted with the original full description of Bauman Rare Books affixed to the custom-built mat. It is rare to find the entire collection intact.

The prints depict Orville and Wilbur Wright's 1903 flight at Kitty Hawk, Charles Lindbergh's legendary transatlantic flight in 1927, R. E. Byrd's (upcoming) attempt to fly across the Antarctic, Charles Kingsford-Smith flying to Australia in 1928, Louis Bleriot crossing the White Cliffs of Dover in 1909, Albert C. Read flying over the Azores in 1919, and John A. Macready's transcontinental flight over the United States in one day in 1923. Each plate is signed by the pilot depicted (except for Wilbur Wright who died in 1912). From a private collection in North Carolina.
