Presentation copy, inscribed by Burgess on the front free endpaper: "To David/Wise/with kind/regards from/Anthony Burgess". Additionally, this book is signed by Burgess and dated "Sussex/7.1.66" on the title-page". Octavo. 221 pages. Publisher's full blue cloth, spine lettered in silver, dust jacket. Jacket spine sunned, some mild rubbing or edgewear to jacket, some thumbsoiling to jacket rear panel, minor rubbing to binding. Recipient's bookplate on the front free endpaper beneath Burgess' inscription. Still, near fine. From the collection of Donald Kaufmann.
