Anthony Berkeley. Jumping Jenny. London: Hodder and Stoughton, 1933. First edition. Octavo (7.25 x 4.75 inches; 185 x 122 mm.). 316 pages. Publisher's light blue cloth, front and spine lettered in black; all edges of the text block trimmed; in the original illustrated dust jacket. Mild shelf wear at extremities of binding, lighter wear at joints; slight bubbling of cloth at joints and backstrip; soft bumping to corners; tiny spots of possible insect damage at upper corner of front board. Normal age toning to edges and interior of text block; top edge slightly darkened; one or two tiny spots of soiling. Occasional light, marginal thumb- and spot-staining scattered throughout interior; small red stamp on page 77. Toning and rubbing to exposed panels of jacket, with a few spots of soiling; fairly mild edge wear with slight paper loss at spine and flap fold ends; front flap torn from top about one and three-quarter inches down with shorter hole, about one inch long, toward bottom; joint and flap folds thinning from wear; a bit of fraying resulting in short tears and a few short creases along edges. Very good. From the Otto Penzler Collection of Mystery Fiction.
