    Description

Andy Warhol's Index Book, with Almost All of the Extras

Andy Warhol. Andy Warhol's Index (Book). New York: Random House, 1967. First edition of this hardcover, one of 365 copies (this copy not numbered by him). Quarto. Unpaginated. Publisher's quarter black cloth backstrip over pictorial boards, lenticular label on front board. Almost all of the extras published with this volume are present. These include the pop-up castle, the red accordion, the pop-up biplane (creased), The Chelsea Girls wheel on a spring, the Lou Reed picture disc, the fold-out nose, the tomato paste can, the eight "big surprise" tabs (only four - two blank and two with Warhol's name - are present), and the balloon (balloon is loose). The cardboard form on a string is lacking (string is present). Sealed pages around cardboard form are unsealed and damaged at bottom where the seal was broken. Some pages slightly wrinkled. Lower front boards slightly bumped, minor rubbing or soiling to boards. Still, very good.
From the Estate of Rod McKuen.
