Chicago: The Century Publishing and Engraving Company, 1901. Quarto. xi, 477 pages. Portraits. Publisher's full calf, gilt lettering and decoration on front cover and spine. All edges gilt. A few scuffs and signs of wear on covers, chips on spine ends. Joints rubbed with front joint starting and rear joint cracking. Front inner hinge broken, spine separating. Rear hinge starting at head. Light dampstaining on outer edges of preliminary sheets, larger dampstaining on lower halves of terminal sheets. Occasional light foxing on outer margins of plates, a few directly affecting the portraits. Very good internally.

    Only Volume I published, no other volumes followed.
