Photograph of the author mounted on title-page. Original maroon cloth. Light rubbing to extremities, spine ends bumped. Textblock a bit shaken, spine leaning. Front hinge cracked, leaves preceding title page excised and lacking. Over-opened, a few places with mull cloth exposed. Rear hinge starting. Very good interior. Flake-Draper 8960 ("Brief notes on Mormon emigrants; life in Brown's hole, p. 31-32"); Graff 4158; Howes T275.
